Blackberry Onyx

Blackberry Onyx - Some time ago, Research In Motion (RIM), device vendors as well as the Canadian BlackBerry service providers, announced the BlackBerry is currently preparing a white Onyx. A number of official partners berancang RIM also make preparations for a new variant of the Onyx deliver it to the respective country.

Indonesia is no exception. Indosat said it will bring steady handset is pretty white around May next. However, not so with XL. "The Blue" tend to be more patient and not rush to this one.

The reason, according to Budi Hardjono, General Manager Product & Postpaid BlackBerry XL, White Onyx is not a variant of the BlackBerry device BlackBerry gress, just a new variant of the Onyx. So, XL decided to wait for input from the resellers (distributors), its associated number of order placement.

"If a new variant of an existing series, we usually 'throw' first to the reseller (distributor). Because they have a stronger market Instinct, those who know better what kind of market demand," said Budi.

"So, let them that determines how many units will take, whether or not a prospective market," added Budi, when interviewed VIVAnews in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 13th 2010.

So far, Budi said it was still collecting data from the first reseller. "The numbers there are about 10-15 large resellers spread across the entire territory of Indonesia. Each region would have different levels of demand," he explained.

However, while still collecting data from the resellers, XL guarantee these devices will be present in Indonesia in May. "Surely we launched, still do not know exactly. Some resellers are already there that message through us. Yes, about a month already available in the market," said Budi.

When launched later, most likely the price will not be much different than the price of black Onyx BlackBerry. Today, her Onyx membanderol XL price of Rp 5.15 million, inclusive of 50 per cent discount to the BlackBerry Internet Service service during the first six months.

Just a note, to accompany the significant growth, as of March 2010, XL enlarge the bandwidth provided from Indonesia to RIM's servers, from 180Mbps to 260Mbps previous. This amount is divided into two international optical link, ie 130Mbps over a network owned by Tata, and others through Aicent 130 Mbps.

"XL's network capacity has been used up 60 percent, so we upgrade again. We tetep keep it in order to remain below 60 percent. After all, according to a top 10 complaint that comes in, customers are generally complained about the slow access due to heavy traffic," said Handono Warih, General Manager Sales & Internet Service BlackBerry XL, on other occasions.
