Train Accident

Train accidents occur in Petarukan, Pemalang, Central Java, Saturday, October 2, 2010. Argo Rail Orchid majors Jakarta-Surabaya railway Senja Utama hit Jakarta-Semarang, which is being stopped from behind at around 03:05 pm.

Pemalang police chief Sofyan Nugroho, Drs AKBP to VIVAnews ensure there are victims killed in this accident. He said the accident happened 100 meters west of the station Pemalang.

"In total there are 12 people were killed. We have seven bodies of whom were evacuated to RZ Azhari and five in the Hospital of Santa Maria. That there are 10 people were seriously injured and being treated," said Sofyan.

He said the victims were mostly passenger Main Dusk in the rear compartment. Severe injuries due to trapped and rescuers were evacuating difficulties because of limited equipment.

"Later we masinisnya check," said Sofyan.

Polish President ‎

Poland President Died - Mary McAleese and Brian Cowen have led Irish tributes to Polish President Lech Kaczynski who died in a plane crash in Russia.

President McAleese said she was deeply sadden by the deaths of Mr Lech Kaczynski and scores of other passengers while the Taoiseach extended his sympathy to the Polish nation.

The head of state died along with his wife Maria and a number of senior diplomats when the plane, which had left from Warsaw, hit trees as it approached Smolensk's airport in thick fog on Saturday morning.

Mr Kaczynski was flying to the Russian city to mark the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre of thousands of Poles by Soviet forces. It is understood no-one survived the crash.

President McAleese said the tragedy would have a deep impact on Ireland's sizeable Polish community.

"This shocking news will cause immense sadness to the people of Poland to whom I convey my heartfelt sympathy and that of the Irish people," she said.

"I am also acutely conscious that this tragedy will be particularly painful for the Polish community in Ireland as they come to terms with this terrible loss far from their native land.

"I had the honour of meeting President Kaczynski when he visited Ireland in February 2007 and we celebrated together the strong bonds of friendship which unite Ireland and Poland.

"The deep sadness being felt in Poland today is shared by many in Ireland who hold the Polish people in high regard and with great affection. At this time of trauma and bereavement, I extend to the family of President Kaczynski, the Polish Government and people my sincere condolences on their tragic loss."

Mr Cowen extended his sympathy to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. "On my own behalf, and on behalf of my Government, I wish to extend our sincere condolences to the Polish Government and the people of Poland for their huge loss arising from this terrible tragedy," he said.
